Literally everything, forums, threads, posts, looks like basically every bit of the layout is centered, rather than aligned left.

Funny enough, this ONLY happens in the Default theme.

When I activate other themes everything is aligned left, as it should, but other problems appear, like a broken little image next to posters ID and the same little broken image next to threads and a little sentence "Go to first unread post"

The main reason for the upgrade was to speed up the forum for mobile users, that worked on another site (although this was an upgrade from a newer version), but not here, where it was upgraded from version 1.6.8.

Any suggestions welcome..

Thanks!

theme is not updated completely. you have to revert the templates & the stylesheets

or try creating a new theme [see related guidance here]

see Reverting Templates

making a new stock theme should be simple than reverting the templates !

Once again, thank you very much for the swift reply. I will ask the friendly guy from my hosting company who actually performed the update (too intimidating for me to try myself) and let you know what happened, although it seemed to have solved the problem for someone with a similar problem.

Once again, thanks very much, this is very much appreciated!

actually we suggest to install & use a fully compatible theme for the forum.

Better to have a mobile friendly responsive theme - either a paid theme or a free one

freely available themes @ Extend Section

paid themes are listed at R/S/J section

Pardon my ignorance, but is this instead of the solution (recreating the default theme) that you provided earlier (which don't seem to have worked as the guy from my hosting company has executed these, but I'm waiting for him to come back with the details of exactly what he did).

Once again thanks for your swift reply!

As it happens, he just notified me with the following:

["We have performed both solutions now, and the homepage remains the same.

Given that, address this with MyBB's support for further assistance."]

That is, both solutions that you directed me to here:
https://community.mybb.com/thread-158870...pid1100165

Installing a new (mobile friendly) theme as you suggested could solve these layout problems?

Once again, kind regards!

Many thanks to .m. !!

Mostly solved but not entirely, the layout in Chrome is still quite messy and warped compared to what it should be (and is in other browsers), many buttons are missing, new posts won't scale to the width of the screen, unlike existing posts they have a fixed width, messages are not separated in threads, a blue background color is displayed in Chrome but not in other browsers, stuff like that. The message scaling problem is serious, the other ones mostly one of display neatness, although these might be a little off-putting for users.
