Hello.

I wanted to change the error message showing after failed logins. Particularly i wanted to replace the "If you have forgotten your password please retrieve a new one" statement.

I have already replace the language file messages.lang.php but i am not seeing the changes that i made? How do i properly edit this error messages?

you can try editing the file directly from the files server
/inc/languages/english/messages.lang.php

use editor at web host panel or use editor like notepad++

^ strange. do you have any cache setup ?

put your board offline.
take backup of messages.lang.php file & delete it from server.
now visit forum. do you get error that the file does not exist ?

I don't know any cache setup? But i am also using cloudflare, i already tried purging everything and turned off "Always Online™". I also removed the messages.lang.php. Error existed and it's looking for the file, i put it back but the messages were not updated.

I can give you access to my remote desktop if you want to check it for yourself...

^ sorry. effone might be able to help.

basically, development mode needs to be turned on at cloudflare before making major changes.
And .htaccess needs to be checked [esp. if you have wordpress as main site] for leverage cache .. etc
