Can an email automatically be sent to the forum members from a post ?

Hello,
users can enable e-mail notifications and follow threads that they wish to get notifications of new posts from, but I don't think there's an option to automatically set threads to followed by default. Though, in my opinion, that'd get a bit spammy for users, so I wouldn't recommend it anyway.
