My 404 page isnt working

Hi I followed a guide on how to make a 404 page (https://community.mybb.com/thread-226714...t=404+page)

I did everything that was said to do in it, and it doesnt work.

can anyone help

Is your htaccess  like this .htaccess or like this htaccess.txt in your root folder?
Did you add exactly the same name wit this 404 in your new template?
Did you upload 404.php in your root folder?
