[How To?] How do I remove nav_bit title from index.php?

Hi,

First off I want to say thank you so much for creating this awesome free BB software! I like the fact that it is lightweight but also advanced. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to remove the nav_bit title from the homepage only? I obviously don't want to get rid of the navigation menu on all pages, however I think that one "GroupFinder" text on the homepage looks quite clunky (considering there is a logo that says it right above the line of text). I have tried creating a div in the nav_bit file of the template and then hiding it with javascript on the index page, with no success. Any help is greatly appreciated.
