Need guidance on adding forum code
#1
Hello Expert,

I hope you are all doing great, I am a newbie in the forum creation field.
A year back I have created a website related to tennis racquets and now I want to add a forum section in it where tennis fans make discussions as I did here.
1: Should I need a new domain & Hosting for this?
2: If no, then how can I add a forum section?

Note: If my query doesn't belong here, moderators please put it in a related category.

PS: Links or Videos for proper guidance will be appreciated.

You can just have the forum in a subdirectory on same domain and hosting, or you can choose to use a subdomain.
The two cases works without new domain (if it allows subdomain) and without changing hosting.

For subdirectory, juste create the subdirectory (using your ftp client), put the sources of MyBB in it and run the installer.
For subdomain, you'll have also to create the DNS entry and configure your webserver (apache or nginx)

Can you please share the source of MyBB for my subdirectory?

No, extract on your computer the content of the .zip and upload the full content of the Upload/ directory into your forum directory.
Then, going to www.yourdomain/com/forum/ will start the installation process, follow it Smile
