Hello All,
I'm new here and starting to work with MyBB instead phpbb because I like it somehow better but ran into a problem and can't find the way to correct it.
When user reply in thread/topic/post all original message shows in edit mode in reply window. Can it be disabled ? Corrected ? How ?

Thanks all for help.

Best,
nessip

Can you provide a URL and a test account? Only the current post is stored so it wouldn't be able to pull the original message from anywhere to display it.

Here is the same...seee above. I've edited Your original message. And it was attached to my reply...I'd like to not have it attached by default.

Thanks,
nessip

Also I wrote You PM.

And again while writing reply without selecting quote, I'm able to edit all previous content
Can this behaviour be disabled ? Smile

Right, sorry I thought you meant editing a post.

Yes, this is just how quoting a post works, it's just putting the contents of the post you're replying to into your post. This is how most forum software works, as it retains a copy of the post as it was when you replied to it, and allows you to only quote part of it if you like. If you don't want it to do this, you'd need to edit the postbit_quote template, and remove this:

&replyto={$post['pid']}

Or, just not use that button and use the full reply button at the top and bottom of the thread, or the quick reply.

You're absolutely right. I haven't noticed that "Reply" button stands - "reply quoting this post". It's misconfusing. In phpbb when You hit reply You just reply without quoting. I'll try Your solution to disable this. Thanks again.

All the Best,
nessip
