[For 1.8] OP Can Close Thread 1.4.1
#1
OP Can Close Thread allows the authors of threads - original posters (OPs) - to close and reopen their own threads in forums stipulated in the plugin's ACP settings. Thread authors do not need to be moderators in order to close/reopen their own threads in those forums.

Installation is as usual: extract files, recursively copy files in root into your board's root directory, then install+activate via the ACP's Plugins page.

Note: requires patches to core files which are automatically applied on installation, and automatically reverted on uninstallation.

This plugin was split out of the Bump Absorber plugin given its distinct functionality. That plugin was written for a fee for @andrewjs18, who requested that it then be open sourced.

Cool, thank you!

Anyway how to close the thread if the quick reply box is disabled? Also the option to close thread should be visible only for thread authors if you are not a mod or a member of a usergroup with the permissions to do it.

Also I am not sure but I cannot lock the thread, it is still opened...

Also if the thread is closed by mod/admin, the OP should not be able to reopen it Smile

By a full edit of the first post in the thread. Alternatively, manually entering this URL should work, where [tid] should be replaced with the thread's ID:

https://your.forum/moderation.php?action=opcct_toggle_own_thread_closed&tid=[tid]

That should already be the case. Where are you seeing this checkbox when you shouldn't see it? [ETA: Perhaps I'm misunderstanding: are you suggesting that a mod or member of a usergroup with permissions should not see the checkbox, even if they're the thread's author in a forum selected in this plugin's settings?]

Can you please provide more details on this situation?

Yes, that should also already be the case. Have you found a situation in which the OP can reopen a thread closed by a mod/admin? If so, could you please provide more details?

nice plugin. feature request: if OP chose close the thread, will it be possible to add a feature thread prefix will be changed too? like we can add prefix "Solved". whenever OP close the thread, thread prefix will auto change to "Solved"

I've added this as a GitHub issue. I'd be happy to merge a neatly-coded PR.

I'm not sure I understand. What exactly do you want added over and above the existing plugin settings in the ACP?

Version 1.1.0 released with the button requested by @lkop above, and by @Eldenroot privately:
  • Adds an "[Open/Close] Thread" button top & bottom of thread pages for thread authors in forums stipulated in the plugin's settings.
  • Averts a CSRF vulnerability by setting and checking my_post_key when submitting via that button to moderation.php?action=opcct_toggle_own_thread_closed. Thanks to @dvz for the heads-up on that one.
