Mike, You can rewrite forumbit_depth1_cat with twice same code. I guess, I have to give an example Smile

<table border="0" cellspacing="{$theme['borderwidth']}" cellpadding="{$theme['tablespace']}" class="tborder">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="thead" colspan="5">
<div class="expcolimage"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/{$expcolimage}" id="cat_{$forum['fid']}_img" class="expander" alt="{$expaltext}" /></div>
<div><strong><a href="forumdisplay.php?fid={$forum['fid']}">{$forum['name']}</a></strong><br /><div class="smalltext">{$forum['description']}</div></div>
</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody style="{$expdisplay}" id="cat_{$forum['fid']}_e">
<tr>
<td class="tcat" width="35"> </td>
<td class="tcat"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_forum}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="85" align="center" style="white-space: nowrap"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_threads}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="85" align="center" style="white-space: nowrap"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_posts}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="200" align="center"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_lastpost}</strong></td>
</tr>
{$sub_forums}
</tbody>
</table>
<br />

Above, These are original depth1_cat codes. Change it like below codes:

<table border="0" cellspacing="{$theme['borderwidth']}" cellpadding="{$theme['tablespace']}" class="tborder">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="thead" colspan="5">
<div class="expcolimage"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/{$expcolimage}" id="cat_{$forum['fid']}_img" class="expander" alt="{$expaltext}" /></div>
<div><strong><a href="forumdisplay.php?fid={$forum['fid']}">{$forum['name']}</a></strong><br /><div class="smalltext">{$forum['description']}</div></div>
</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody style="{$expdisplay}" id="cat_{$forum['fid']}_e">
<tr>
<td class="tcat" width="35"> </td>
<td class="tcat"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_forum}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="85" align="center" style="white-space: nowrap"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_threads}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="85" align="center" style="white-space: nowrap"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_posts}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="200" align="center"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_lastpost}</strong></td>
</tr>
{$sub_forums}
</tbody>
</table>
<br />
<table border="0" cellspacing="{$theme['borderwidth']}" cellpadding="{$theme['tablespace']}" class="tborder">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="thead" colspan="5">
<div class="expcolimage"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/{$expcolimage}" id="cat_{$forum['fid']}_img" class="expander" alt="{$expaltext}" /></div>
<div><strong><a href="forumdisplay.php?fid={$forum['fid']}">{$forum['name']}</a></strong><br /><div class="smalltext">{$forum['description']}</div></div>
</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody style="{$expdisplay}" id="cat_{$forum['fid']}_e">
<tr>
<td class="tcat" width="35"> </td>
<td class="tcat"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_forum}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="85" align="center" style="white-space: nowrap"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_threads}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="85" align="center" style="white-space: nowrap"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_posts}</strong></td>
<td class="tcat" width="200" align="center"><strong>{$lang->forumbit_lastpost}</strong></td>
</tr>
{$sub_forums}
</tbody>
</table>

Change the second tcat class with yours...

Lex, I took off a child forum to leave the category blank, and yes, it works, however what use is that? On your forum it works the same. There must be something more you need to do so that you can allow child forums. What use is a blank category?

Ill try your coding arno Toungue.

Arno, before testing it I knew it wouldnt work, that is adding an extra duplicate table. That cant work because what if someone only has one or two categories. They get four now, the other two are just blank and they dont even look right. That wont work, sadly. We will need to edit files for this.

Apparently neither of these codes will work the way I want them to.

Find && Replace
$catcolor = alt_cat();

Below
$forumcat = "_cat";

Should fix the problem =P
