on a forced logout
#1
I can't explain why it happened, and I don't care to pursue that part.

I do not logout here, and I carefully manage retained cookies, particularly when clearing browser cache. I use two main computers to access this community. Both confirmed a forced logout which required me to go through the very tedious hcaptcha process four times (and it is rarely a single hcaptcha step) which includes

1. verification to login using a known and browser-saved password which is rejected for being too simple,
2. verification of email to reset the password,
3. verification to complete the reset process, then
4. verification to log in with the new password.

It's enough to confirm that I am a human angry enough to say "be done with the nonsense or I'll be done." The irony of all the captcha systems is that input is used to train AI to recognize patterns in images. "Prove you're not a bot. Indeed!" Angry

I remember the internet when it was touted as a solution for a world with not enough information.

Thanks for your feedback.

The reset requirement may have been triggered by a suspected breached password (https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?acti...w&pid=1603).

The Forums may present a CAPTCHA for login at various times due to high automated traffic, including credential stuffing attempts (some of which may not yet be present in the API used by the plugin).
