Hiring a coder; what to expect?

after months of mucking around with my site i've realized that i simply do not have neither the attention span nor memory recall to successfully build a site as i envision it.

i'll be looking to hire someone to do it for me, at some point down the line, but first i'd like to hear from the more experienced - what to expect when hiring a coder, what are the usual prices, what are the red and green flags, where to find experienced or at least willing coders, and all the others tips you could think of (cannot overemphasize how little i know of these things!) ...

if any additional info is needed, this is how i'd like my forums to eventually look (ofc, adapted to mybb, and with cosmetic differences), although mobile responsive and with account switcher integration.

for profiles, i'd like them to look like this, but ofc matching the aesthetic of the forums.

What You can expect is the job done at your owns, but You can do it if You put enough time to invest on it.

The Bad things are You have to pay for this and invest time to verify that all works as You wish.

On the end this have pros and cons, but if You hire a good dev and pay good You may have your job done faster. But if is not the right one maybe You Will be not satisfied with the final results.
