Need help to get forum running again

My forum was super slow so I decided to drop the domain name and just use the cPanel address to still be able to access the forum but I can't seem to get it working right.  Does anyone know what it would take to make this thing functional again?  I changed the url in inc/settings.php and it loads the index page but can't login or load any other pages!

What are the cookie settings for this new url ? You can check them in the database in the settings table.

When updating the settings directly from the database, proceed to delete the /inc/settings.php file and then access your forum, this will automatically rebuild the settings fetching them from the database.

I'd leave the domain name blank since your using an IP.

I set up test servers all the time that way.
