When I add this I just get some of the code above the logo and no news box thing Sad

Is there a mod that does this? If so which one

You can't be doing it right then, I do it on my forum just fine, and it's done in exactly the same way on these forums. Are you sure you're following the instructions?? It doesn't sound like you are.
