$globaltime will tell you the amount of time global.php took to process, however to track the time for the rest of the page (index.php for example), you would need to take the time on that as well, and add it to each file to get an accurate count.

You need to look at the microtime() at beginning and end, subtract, and then echo it either before it evals the footer template (if you put it there), or just echo it in the php itself.
