Not Solved [Page Manager] Share your custom pages
Not Solved
Hi.
I share with you the page that I have been using.
The page is using the main method of this plugin http://mods.mybb.com/view/recent-posts-forum-index
(so thanks borbole).

I am using it because in my forum I can't have more sideboxes so this is the best option for people who want a traditional intro (and people who don't know how to use new messages and today messages...)
Just typing www.forum.com/recient with .htaccess properly configured they can show last posts.
In array $config you can translate a few words and also specify how many posts you want to show.

Quote:/*
* Adapted by ManuR from:
* http://mods.mybb.com/view/recent-posts-forum-index (thanks borbole)
* This page will add the most recent posts of your forum.
* The permissions are carried intact. i.e. the group/groups that does/have not permissions
* to view a forum, will not be able to see the posts from the forum/forums that they are not
* allowed to view.
* Also posts from forums set as Inactive will not show up.
* The same goes for the invisible posts too.

*/

Have a good day!

Hi,

I just love the Page Manager plugin. My site is fully integrated with MyBB because of it and I do not know what I would do without it. Big Grin

All the following Page Manager pages use MyBB headers and footers making integration with MyBB a snap. For example I wrote a custom CSS menu that works with MyBB's header and using the "Use MyBB Template" Page Manager option can appear in each custom page. This gives my site a seamless look and feel.

Checkout these Page Manager pages on my site:
==============================
Main entry/index page with video/image slideshow/lightbox: http://www.phoenixusc.com/board/misc.php...main_index

Video gallery page with video slideshow/lightbox: http://www.phoenixusc.com/board/misc.php..._USC_Video

Image Gallery page with image slideshow/lightbox: http://www.phoenixusc.com/board/misc.php...USC_Images

I will be adding more Page Manager pages as I get closer to releasing my game. Page Manager rocks it.

Hello all,

First of I want to say very helpful plugin. But cant figure 1 thing out. I want to add the output from a table from the db in a template but don't know how to make it fit mybb.

I have this code that works but I cant figure out how to put the header and footer in and make ik look like this example

The output has to go in the table.

And is it safe to use the mysql_connect? Or is there an safer way to use it?

<?php
 // Connects to your Database
 mysql_connect("localhost", "username", "pass") or die(mysql_error());
 mysql_select_db("DATABASE") or die(mysql_error());
 $data = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM mybb_userfields")
 or die(mysql_error());

 while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $data ))
 {
 Print " ".$info['fid6'] . " ";
 }
?>

I hope somebody can help me on this matter.

Greets,
Gino

Instead of the mysql_connect aspect you could probably use:

global $db;

$data = $db->simple_select('mybb_userfields', '*');

Instead and it should do the same thing. (Though just for a heads up, I haven't actually tested it with your existing code. So I can't guarantee it'll work perfectly.)

Though if you were connecting to another database, besides your current install of MyBB, then you would likely need to use mysql_connect. And it would be relatively safe... Except that any staff who can view the page manager could see the mysql connection info. Though anyone visiting the page wouldn't see anything (since only the output is shown for people visiting the page, even if they click view source).

If you use the simple_select() DB method (you should unless, as already mentioned, you are conn ecting to a different server from your forum's) you don't need to add the prefix to the DB table ("mybb_" or whatever your prefix is), not in 1.6 at least.

Replace:
 while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $data ))
{
Print " ".$info['fid6'] . " ";
}

With:
global $headerinclude, $header, $footer;

$var = '';

while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $data ))
{
$var .= " " . $info['fid6'] . " ";
}

$templates->cache['page'] = '<html>
	<head>
		<title>{$pages[\'name\']} - {$settings[\'bbname\']}</title>
		{$headerinclude}
	</head>
	<body>
		{$header}
		{$pages[\'template\']}
		{$footer}
	</body>
</html>';

eval("\$page= \"".$templates->get("page")."\";");
output_page($page);
exit;
