Hello-- I'm currently developing a custom news script for my site and was wondering if someone could tell me what the best approach to the following method would be. I want users of my site to have the ability to post comments within each of my news articles. What I want to know is how I would go about lettings users use there username/password from mybb when posting comments. Really the only thing I want to know is how I can get my script to read the user table from mybb allowing users to login. Then once they have logged in I would have it do the rest with comments. Anyone know how I would go about doing this? I noticed that the passwords were encrypted so I really have no clue where to start with this as I'm only starting with php/mysql. Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to use this topic.
The simplest way to do your new system would be to set aside a forum for news posts and let people respond to them. Change the option in the Portal settings to point to this forum and it'll work like a news system.

Well, MyBB has its own built-in portal script, and you could easily modify that.
