There is a plugin called MyFavicon. I highly recommend you use it.

Just place this in the very top of your "header" template :

<link rel="icon" href="http://your website here.com/favicon.ico" />

Put the "favicon.ico" in your forum root.

If you put this to header template, you can see favicon code in <body> part. This is wrong place.
If you put this to headerinclude template, you can see favicon code in <head> part. This correct place.

Ok i understand. I have mine in the "header" template and it works. So what makes it wrong? Im just curious.

The headerinclude is where other similar tags are; I don't know for sure if being in the body will stop this tag working, maybe if it's showing for you your browser just picked up the favicon automatically anyway.
