[Release 1.4/1.6] Master Post URL Limiter 1.1
#1
Hi All,

Master Post URL Limiter allows restriction on number of URLs a member can include in one post.

The requirement raised from my forum where members used to post several affiliate urls in one post and hence I thought to automate the limitation on number of urls one can have in a post.

Changelog:
Version 1.1
- Enhanced URL identification.
- Inline error display on newthread / editpost page rather than a separate page.

Great mod!

But you forgot to check these codes as well

And someone can just dump in,
www.google.com
and it wont be counted as a link, but mybb will link it.

Also if they put in
google.com
it still promotes their site even though its not linked. Not sure how you would want to handle TLDs, but .com, .net, .org, .info, .ru filtering would be good to have.

I have already considered making regex strict enough to match even xyz.com however, my main aim was to stop direct url entries using [url] tag and links starting with http://

I shall try and release another version soon.

Doesn't work for me. I would like to set it for 0 allowed links, so that I don't get spammers write their stuff. I have tested with another normal account of mine and it doesn't work.

Can anyone tell me a good plugin to restrict link posting until members achieve a certain post count? I'd hate having to pay for vbulletin again, but MyBB seems to have caught up on the spam list and right now my forum has NOTHING to keep these guys from posting their junk. And no, I don't want to keep on approving accounds and moderate post for as long as I live, the forum is still new and it will get more 'crowded'.

What the hell. I did install this plugin yesterday and tried it out and it worked fine but when I check my forum today a spammer with only 1 post start a new thread with ~15 links in it, this is what my settings looks like:
