Well yes, MyBB is written in PHP...

Go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/. First page you'll see will have a box titled 'Create new database', just put a name in there, forum, mybb, something like that. You don't need to create or name any fields, that's what the installer is for. When you've made the database, as explained above, go to http://localhost/mybb/install/, change the mybb if you called the folder something else, and follow the steps. When it asks for database details, database name is whatever you called it when you created it, username is root, password is left blank.

One last quick question, everything is running nicely now but everytime I go on something different it asks for username and password, how do I edit this or disable it?
