Why don't you just make an all-round "sportFreaks"

Missing the good points of his good strategy. What Alex does prevents his users from being bored of his website by providing a window of time the website is open for. This makes members look forward for re-opening (hopefully) and to engage with the forum as much as possible before it closes down again!

Alex, what you could try and do is warp the existing userbase of SnowFreaks on to whatever new summer forum you might have. So members from your winter forums don't have to re-register for your summer one.
