Where do you want it to be? In header, footer or somewhere else?

Go templates and styles> templates> open the theme where you want to add it and place it where you want it to be seen. Also, I know you said the plugins don't work for you and I don't know if that is because the plugins you are using are old or whatever, but I can confirm my advertisments by pirata nervo does work.
