I have just got a new domain ,,, is there an easy way to transfer the domain I have to the new one ,,,, I would think it may be just back up the database and restore on the new domain after all the plugins etc have been installed but if anyone has a mybb to mybb transfer plugin/script I would be interested

Juts move all the files from your previous mybb to the newer one.
Edit inc/settings.php and change board URL and Cookie domain. That's it.

You won't need any database change or something.
