  Simple PHP file to Update a post's message to include 2 breaks and a ban reason?
Posted by: advil0 - 2010-08-21, 07:28 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - No Replies

I'm working on a ban script and need a simple php file to go into that post, insert two <br />'s and the reason why that user was banned for that post. I don't know much MySQL at all so I come here for help.

I know to execute a query the PHP file has to have this:

define("IN_MYBB", 1);
define('THIS_SCRIPT', 'updatepostban.php');

require_once "./global.php";

But I don't know what kind of query would be used to get what I want.

Any ideas?

  Delete all PMs
Posted by: GFN - 2010-08-21, 06:15 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (6)

Hi, I want to delete all PMs in the database. There are almost as many PMs as posts and many appear to be spam. I have advised members to save any PMs that they want to keep. What is the best way to delete all PMs? I would assume using Myphp admin and drop the table but how exactly should I do this?

  Question about merging (Upgrading to from 1.4 to 1.6)
Posted by: x_Stricken_x - 2010-08-21, 05:28 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (4)

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, but I just have a quick question.

What would be the best way to upgrade from 1.4->1.6? I looked on the Wiki, but probably overlooked something =/ Also, if I don't go the route of replacing the files then running the upgrade script, would I be able to import my 1.4 forums to a fresh install? If so, would this cause any problems?

  Make it so my site forum does not redirect to my server IP address
Posted by: BrickMaster - 2010-08-21, 04:21 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (2)

Hi there, well my domain name was not yet transferred when I set up my forum and I used my server IP as the URL. Well now I have a problem where certain parts of the forum will bring my users to "serverIP/page" instead of "mywebsiteurl.com/page." So I just wanted to know what I need to do to fix it so it will only stay on my actual domain name, and not go and redirect users to my server IP address. I imagine I could do it in one of the files but I'm not sure where exactly I would do it at.

Thanks!
BrickMaster

  Moderator as Additional User Groups - Not working well
Posted by: braca - 2010-08-21, 01:58 AM - Forum: 1.6 General Support - Replies (3)

New installation or upgrade (from which version of MyBB)?
New instalation, data imported from phpBB3..

The problem is, I gave "Moderators" group permissions to moderate all of my forums, then i went to my moderator profile, and made him a Moderator (in Additional Usergroups), the problem is that if the Moderator group is defined in "Additional usergroups" he cannot moderate the forum, he can access the "Mod CP", but the moderator tools like edit posts.. are not avaiable. Now, changing his "Primary User Group " from 'Registered' to 'Moderators' its works well...
