So I am in the process of upgrading to 1.6.4.

When I go to: http://Mysite/install, I get a prompt that I am upgrading to 1.6.1 instead of 1.6.4. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Have you uploaded the new files? If so, you haven't uploaded them correctly.

Yep. I think that's what it is. I did not overwrite my exisiting files with the new ones. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks

Hi Matt,

I am having trouble seeing how this works. I thought it would work if I Synchronize my local with remote files ( in DW there is a Synchronize option) and it did not seem to work.

Please Advise.

Thanks

Update:

Hi Matt,

I uploaded the files to the 'Forum folder' and it seemed to overwrite the old files, however I still get the 1.6.1 upgrade prompt in the Install Wizard instead of the 1.6.4 prompt. Please Advise.

Thanks

Well, the suggestion is to upload them so they overwrite... Smile Upload them to the same place and you'll get asked if you want to overwrite them.

You've got a whole load of 'Copy of' files and folders... I'm not really sure what you're doing here, you just need to go to the forum folder, drag the whole of the contents of the Upload folder from the download package over to that forum folder, it'll prompt you to overwrite it, accept that, and let it upload. I won't be able to upload the files tonight as with the speed of my internet I won't have enough time tonight, but I can do it tomorrow if you're still having trouble with it.

Hi all,

I would appreciate it if someone can checkout my site (through FTP) to see what has gone wrong. I am trying to upgrade from 1.6.1 to 1.6.4.
It seems like I have uploaded everything correctly ( to me at least) but when I go to the install wizard it is prompting me to upgrade to 1.6.1 instead of 1.6.4.

I'd appreciate some support with this.

Thanks
Re-upload the files again. Make sure that you have the proper CHMOD set.
Please stop making so many threads on this, this is the 3rd one I've merged now, there's no need to make so many, you could have just bumped this one instead of making a new one. I haven't forgotten about uploading your files for you, I'm starting the upload now.

Edit: File upload complete, files overwrote just fine. Really don't know how you were uploading the files, as I said before, you've got a load of copies of files and folders in there, it wasn't overwriting everything, it's been making copies. Try and upgrade now and it should work fine.
i woudnt use DW for uploading to be honest, just use a seperate prog like CuteFTP or Filezilla Wink

Sorry for the late response and the duplicate threads.

I was able to get someone to help me do the upgrade.

As for the duplicate files/folders, they've all accumulated from previous upgrades. I tried to delete them and I lost my forum! Then was able to recover it surprisingly!..lol. Could there be some old files that are still linked to the forum? Please advise. Thanks
