Like many of you I use MyBB allot and I have had to reset my password. But I have never had a problem with the reset not working or working activation code or any whitespace before or after.
I've never used stmp mail settings and I've never used any other email then gmail.com
I know this is kind of grave digging however I too am having this problem. I have had at least 200 reports of this problem in the past 48 hours. i have tried numerous different things, and nothing seems to be working. I honestly think this is a bug. I found a similar bug report here,

You have 200 people resetting their passwords every 48 hours on your forum...? Exaggeration?

At what point does MyBB take a deep peak at this. I never had this problem in 1.4x. I know that bugs where it's hard to replicate are hard to troubleshoot but honestly. There is a bug in there somewhere.
And while I personally also can't replicate. I can say it's happened to me at least once. I also log all password resets so I can see that members claiming a problem really did reset their PW.
Only one reason hundreds of my members would report the same thing. It's because it's a bug.
And a bug in the password system isn't exactly comforting. D:

My forum was hacked, and defaced, and the hackers logged all my members out, I require a complex password so alot of users forgot what passwords they had. Think I am lying or not I honestly don't care.

It's for sure a bug especially all the threads I have seen when searching "mybb forgot password problem". I really hope thy fix it or someone finds the fix. I am losing alot of members, and time because of this. But all in all its the hackers fault for making all my members log out.
Password Reset works fine but all emails are sent to spam
but activation email will be sent to inbox
It seems like I'm getting more and more requests for help with resetting passwords again. Is there any update here?

I am still having problems as well. I really hope this is fixed in 1.8...
The bug needs to be found before it can be fixed. This applies to any bug which is reported.
