Is there a plugin or method (lightbox style?) to get images to open w/o opening a new browser tab? I am referring to images as attachments.

its a fantastic idea mate

use the shadowbox or lightbox plugins. They were made for 1.4 but you can change compatibility and they work fine.

i'm using mybb 1.6.8 and Shadowbox did not the trick!!!!

None of these work in 1.6.13. Can someone suggest an alternative?

I am using Shadowbox. Did you change the compatibility settings to 1.6? Be aware that if you are using GoogleSEO then you cannot set the links to rel="nofollow" as it WILL break the shadowbox functionality.

How do you change the Shadowbox compatibility settings please?

You open the plugin file and you will see compatibility - it looks like this:

		'compatibility' => '1.4',

Change the compatibility line to

		'compatibility' => '1*',

Thanks for that. All files uploaded and plugin activated. Nothing is apparent to suggest that this is working though. What should I be seeing?
