MyBB Community Forums

Hi,

I downloaded the MyBB package. I'm unsure of where to install it to though. I tried setting a sub-folder called "MyBB" to install it into. It works fine but the forum is only displayed at "mydomain.com/mybb". I want it to be installed so "mydomain.com" shows it as well as if possible "mydomain.com/forums". I've tried installing it into different directories like public_html etc but "mydomain.com" is still showing a default page provided by my host because I don't have anything uploaded there.

So basically I'm wanting my forum to be displayed at "mydomain.com" and "mydomain.com/forum". But I don't know where to install it to.

Also; In my FTP program (Filezilla), when I connect to my server it's not showing any of my directories? Can I just upload it from the file manager in my cPanel instead?

You can upload it directly via your cPanel File Manager if you wish.

I've cleared the forum out of the database for just now so it will be blank on every page. I could never get it to show at just "www.originalforums.com".

My upload feature on the file manager doesn't let me upload folders though? How do I keep the structure? I tried zip and rar but they don't work either.

You should upload the contents of the 'Upload' directory.

Currently, it's located at: http://www.originalforums.com/forum/mybb/Upload/

Upload all of the contents of the 'Upload' directory to public_html.

Thanks The sub-directory of public_html or the root directory of public_html.

It depends where you want to install it.

If you want to install it at http://yourdomain.com you'd upload the contents of the 'Upload' directory directly into public_html.

If you want to install it at http://yourdomain.com/forum you'd upload the contents of the 'Upload' directory into a directory inside of public_html called forum.

I think I've got it working now. I think I'm installing it into "mydomain.com" but I'm having problem linking the databases at the moment.

I've got it installed but now I've got another problem

I've uploaded all the contents of upload into public_html but now I don't know where my forum is located... All the different folders of "Upload" are in "public_html". I want it to be installed at "mydomain.com" but it's still showing a blank page
