i got my forum installed on www.mywebsite.com/forum
i want to change it to www.mywebsite.com thoughts?

In 'General Configuration' change the board url and cookie path.

The board url should be http://www.mywebsite.com
The cookie path should just be /

Hope this helps

AdminCp > Configuration > Settings > General Configuration >

Change Board URL to

 http://www.mywebsite.com 

Change Cookie Path to

 / 

Remember, just the slash.

Change Cookie Domain:

 .mywebsite.com 

Then move all the files inside "/forum" from your cpanel to the root folder (that's where /forum is present currently)

EDIT: Oh! Polarbear541 already posted. BTW plz note that you can't access the forum until you move the files from /forum folder to the root.

Well I thought moving the files would be obvious and his case he wouldn't need to change the domain

the method didn't work
i did everything you guys told me to
and then after i went to my website it was just like whenever there is nothing else to display except the text and images no css/jquery/backgrounds/style/etc...
since this is not working i was wondering how can i make the /forum/index.php
my homepage like when i visit my website not the forum dir it show me that forum/index.php
