hey ... I want to remove some categories.. but the problem is that when I remove the category.. all the threads in the category will be removed.. and i don;t want that.. I want to merge the categories.. so what shall I do?

You can move your forums to a different category. In the Admin CP, go to the Manage forums section. There choose to Edit the forum you wish to move to a different section and adjust the Parent forum to make it say a different category. Keep doing this until all forums have been moved to wherever you please and then delete the (by then empty) category
When you delete a category it should give you an opion to move all forums to another category. There should be a pull down box when you hit the delete category link.
