What do you want to do with your database backup?
You can import it, read the data and much more.

Oh dear.. You should probably use Google in the future for things like this. A database backup is a dump of your forum database. "Backup" It's in case you ever need to restore your forum.
Example: If your forum gets hacked, you would import your old database before the damage was done.
