Hi I have been the New Administrator at my forum
for almost a year now. The account has been changed over into my name, & I am paying for it.
The old admin has not been reachable for the past 9 months and when I took over she disappeared & forgot to give my profile 'Permission' to be able to make changes to the forum. I was the Mod for several years before taking over 9 months ago as admin so my permissions are the same as they were & I can't go in and give myself permission and she has been just gone for the past 9 months.
I can't update or make any changes to the forum, like updating the banner etc... HELP! my forum is a fan-based site and it is looking very out of date and we have LOTS of members.
You may want to try taking over the other admin's account using the database. See

After you've gotten the main admin's user you can then give your own user the correct permissions.

I am new at this & don't know what a cpanel is.
I tried looking it up but everyone who responds responds like
the person already knows what they are talking about.
Can you please tell me where to go to this cpanel and where to put the
command you gave me?

^ when you log into web host control panel and switch to your domain host account, there should be a page with
many icons and one of the icon should be labelled with phpMyAdmin. click on it, select your database and follow
the given suggestion to run SQL Query ..

I get MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

1045 - Access denied for user '__________' (using password:_____)
Query:
[READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server
The only thing I changed was the database password...
and I don't know what it was before...

Edit the password in the config.php file to the one you changed it to.
The config.php is in the ./inc/ folder.

It's in the files that were uploaded connect via your FTP client and go to public_html/inc/ and it's in there.
