Im getting complaints that my forum is running slow taking around 15 - 20 seconds to open a page. The forums not that big.
Is there anyway i can speed it up.

Seems to be a problem with your host. You should contact him and inform him about that issue.

You could try optimizing your database through ACP. I did that when my forum ran a bit slow and it seemed to help.
We can't be sure that it's the hosts fault. But a pre-written code doesn't just run a lot slower suddenly, there has to be a cause for it. Therefore host is the most likely answer.
What are the stats of your forum? As much detail as possible (ie. besides the normal stats, number of usergroups, number of forums, average number of people online at one time, etc)
check your error logs and send it them
