What's the purpose of the portal page? Not much shows up there so I was curious as to its purpose.

You can customize it to show what you like such as the newest forum posts, just announcements etc

The portal page is as useful as you make it really. It is useless by itself TBH. It should be disabled here.

Eh, I think it can serve as a nice 'demo' to anyone who types the link. Can't hurt in having it enabled.

A great example of portal usage is below. I love old forums so I see them a lot.
