Hi all!

I am testing to see if PC will act as a server, as I have signed up to dyndns.org which allows you to have an Apache/IIS server running and you can use their service to allow people to view your web site from your PC.

Could you kind people see if you can connect.
Here is my URL: [link removed]

Hopefully if i configured Apache correctly, MyFirewall and dynDNS correctly you should get a page with some stuff in it.

NOTE: It may take a while Sad to load the page. But I ahve got 1Mbs connection speed!

If you get an error could you post it here please thank you.

I hope it works!
Ok, its not loading at all for me. I waited like 5 mins, nothing loaded and I got a "no connection error".
Okay thanks for tsting, but i have removed my account from dyndns.org. I am going to research more on this matter to see what I ahv to do. So you can delete this thread if your wish or just leave it.

Thanxc again tho!
I'm curious about this services too - how does it work with dynamic IPs? Everytime your IP changes, I would imagin you would have to redo your dyndns settings??
wolfden, yes you do! I use it and manually update my ip every time I loggin to the net. However, you can download programs the automatcily update your ip. You can find them at http://www.dyndns.org/services/dyndns/clients.html
I use no-ip.com, it is like dyndns.org but it is totally free, they also have software that updates your IP automaticlly (and yes, it will detect your outside IP instead of your private IP if you are behind a router, just make sure you have your router configured to forward your server port (usally 80 for a http server) to the local IP of the computer with the server running). It does a great job! I haven't had any problems with it!

You don't have to have a dns address to allow access to your website over the web, you could simply use your ip. http://0.0.0.0

I find your avatar very disturbing, it's a shame you put that up there.
