Whats is beter?

Limit status on index 5
Limit comments per status on index 5

option 1
1 query to get 5 status and second query to get 25 comments on page load

option 2
1 query to get 5 status on load page and next query to each status when you click show comments?

You could add both with a setting, you could also load all comments in one query for option 1.

Edit: My post above is still valid, but I think loading comments on click like in option 2 would be better, regardless of you loading comments in page load or with Ajax.
