^ as I understand it,
those instructions should still help and redirect rules through .htaccess should also work.

see also replies here => http://community.mybb.com/thread-82995.html

specific post link could be also converted with some logic
a post link in MyBB looks like below
http://community.mybb.com/thread-187702-post-1229630.html#pid1229630

please note:
I might not be able to provide further guidance related to it Sad

Wait wait wait, we can get paid? Angry

Big Grin No, funding comes from Chris Boulton, we just do it because we all want to make good software Smile
If mybb staff get paid, I also want to become it ahahah
WWu777 really do you think that they're payed?

Well i wouldn't know. But some conspiracy theorists have said that free software like this are trojan horses for government and big brother to hijack your computer and spy on you. Lol :-D

Whos knows. They could be right. After all if something free is too good to be true....... Lol

But seriously though. Is there a way to migrate from phpbb to mybb and retain all the same URLs and internal links? Thats very important. Some of my forum pages are ranked number one on google. Surely this must be a common question here. No one wants to migrate to a new platform and have all their internal links, thousands of them, not working. Right?

Does the migration manual or help guide address this?

Btw I'm unable to reply to other threads. Does anyone know why? It doesnt even tell me the reason.
^ MyBB code is available as open source through GitHub. it can be scrutinized for any bad activity.

as I understand it, MyBB migration from phpBB cannot easily retain same URLs & same internal links.

your user account here doesn't has any restrictions.
you should be able to start new threads & reply at other open threads.

But I tried to reply to this thread below:

https://community.mybb.com/thread-60398.html

And I got this message:

  2. You do not have permission to access this page. Are you trying to access administrative pages or a resource that you shouldn't be? Check in the forum rules that you are allowed to perform this action.

  3. Your account may still be awaiting activation or moderation. (Resend Activation Code)

  4. You have accessed this page directly rather than using appropriate forms or link.
You are currently logged in with the username: 'WWu777'
Any idea why?

Btw a few more questions.

How do I find my own posts in this forum? I went to my UCP panel and it has no way to show the threads I've participated in. This thread appeared in my UCP for a while. But now it's gone. Why? This is confusing.

Is there a link here called "View Your Own Posts"? Kind of like how phpbb has, like this:

http://www.happierabroad.com/forum/searc...=egosearch

Otherwise, how do users check replies to their posts on this mybb forum? This forum is supposed to be better and easier to use right?

Also, where is the themes demo on this site? I saw it here before, where you could browse and test the different themes here. Why is it gone?

Also, I can't find a quote bracket to wrap text in. Where is it? Isn't there a button in the panel to automatically wrap quotes around text?

Btw, which mybb theme does this forum below use?

https://www.rooshvforum.com/index.php

And how come the threads in it are different than here in terms of how it quotes text? The way text is quoted in this support forum is confusing and unusual. Which version is the default? The forum above looks easy to use. Is that the default one?
above referred thread https://community.mybb.com/thread-60398.html is in archived section.
so replies [& new threads] can't be posted in that archived section

posts & threads posted by a user are shown through links at the user's profile
[eg. your profile] | your posts here

And through subscription method one can keep track of posts & replies
user control panel (see here) has options to set subscription method.
while posting also user has option to select subscription method

Quote button to wrap text : please see this image

above referred forum is using a old version of MyBB (that version is no longer supported)
