So, apperently.. I had spam bots..
My forum is for a server community, so i went offline not working on the forum for 7 days.
When i came back i suddenly saw 60 posts of porn on my site..
It was all under the category "Off-Topic".
I then decided to delete the entire off-topic category to make it faster deleted.
But now theyr still registering, mostly 35-40 aged spam bots.
And i don't even know whos a spam bot and whos not..

So, what's the best solution for this?
I think i have 80 spam bots and 10 real people.. (server isnt published yet)
I have banned around 50 bots already...

Btw., theyr post is a bunch of random words i think they copyed from wikipedia or something.. idk
I don't even understand what the posts are for.

i guess by using recaptcha and some good security setup can help you dealing spam bots, spam bots generally targets the footer line Powered By MyBB you can replace that text with an banner/image backlink to MyBB can decrease the count of new spam bots.

put your forum behind incapsula or cloudflare - it should help a bit.

they don't target a forum, they just look for a keyword associated with their automatic crawling for spam content.

Make sure it's a bot or it's done by a Human (Just Ban the IP of the attacker and use Purge Spammer and ban) i hope it works for you

I use purge spammer, it does the job. As for advice, listen to the other guys not me lol

why don't you promotes some(maybe one or two members) trustable members of your forum to moderator ranks and guide them to remove Spammers and such topics from them.
