I changed the "post was last modified"(ex^) message through inc/languages/global.lang.php and edited $l['postbit_edited']. The new message shows on page refresh after editing a post and for posts that have already been edited. However if you quick edit your post through ajax it seems like somehow the "(This post was last modified: ~ seconds ago by ~.)" message has been cached and it is showing rather than the new message, even though the language file has been changed.

You must also change it in file xmlhttp.lang.php

Figured it out after posting. This is what solved my issue.
