The installer was written originally about 10 years ago, and we've not had any issues with anybody else so the download isn't the issue. Regardless, the install script has nothing to do with a missing file, which is the issue here - the main index file isn't even part of the install or upgrade process.

Can you just printscreen what is in the /mybb folder? It still just looks like there is no index.php in there.

http://www.zempest.com/mybb/index.php - this is saying 404 not found, as is http://www.zempest.com/mybb/portal.php, http://www.zempest.com/mybb/search.php and seemingly every single other root file - so either the files just don't exist, or they can't be accessed, but the installer isn't anything to do with the issue. We need to see everything inside the /mybb folder.
With all due respect, I am only interested in finding the missing file: http://www.zempest.com/mybb/index.php

I truly appreciate the effort of the support staff donating their time.

Sincerely,
Dan

I don't see any files (e.g. index.php) there.
With all due respect, that is the missing file that I am trying to get a hold of. With all sincerity, if I had that file I would not be asking for it.

I respectfully ask that I receive no more responses which do not relate to getting the missing file.

Sincerely,
Dan
I'm quite confused the issue here. Can you not just download the archive from http://mybb.com and upload the files in to the root directory?
Dude, I don't get why you're making it so hard for us to help you. I've already said that you are missing this file, and several other files, and that it is all in the MyBB download package. All you need to do is download MyBB, and upload the files. I said this on the 5th.

This is what the download looks like when you extract the archive, it seems like you've only uploaded the folders, you need all the other files too, and none of these have been uploaded.

This is what I've been trying to tell you from the start. Download MyBB again from here https://mybb.com/download/ and just upload all the files. Starting replies with 'with all due respect' and not listening to what I have suggested you do doesn't make it very easy to help you.
My sincerest and deepest apologies to anyone on the staff that I may have offended, but as I have previously stated, I have done a fresh install at least 8 times with much success except for the one file that I am missing. I sincerely believe that this is a matter that would be easily solved if we could put it in front of the right expert. No offense intended, but I don't think that that person has looked at my problem. If we can't find this person, I will just have to wait for the next release, since older releases that may work for me are not available.

Kindest regards,
Dan
How are you installing this? Through HostGator panel or are you uploading the files yourself?
Ugh... I've already explained, the installer is not the issue. You are misunderstanding what the install script does; the installer creates and populates database tables, and this has worked perfectly well. What you have is a missing file. You can run the installer all you want but it will not create a file. You have to upload, with FTP, all of the files from the MyBB download. The installer is not the problem here.

I can guarantee that every single person who replies to this thread will tell you the exact same thing - you are simply missing some files, and they are all available in the download package for you to upload.
Tell you what, if you PM me FTP login details, I will fix this for you, and if I don't, I will PayPal you $100.
