Well, the theme I am currently using is for 1.8 the Square theme.

I cannot confirm this issue - MyBB version? Theme? Plugins? Moreover this forum is only for bug reports, not for theme related issues.

It's a problem with the plugin mytabs, it adds default_tab field.

So what could I do to fix the problem? I would rather not remove the my tabs as I need it.

Since it seems to be plugin related, post this in Plugin Support. You should get more help there.

Maybe try to reinstall the MyTab plugin.
