Hi,
I was wondering if there was anyway the support team at Mybb can delete my account/forum. I was using it for testing purposes and no longer need it.
Your account on this forum? Or are you talking about a forum you created? MyBB doesn't host any forums apart from the official one at community.mybb.com.

If you're talking about your account on this forum, accounts generally aren't deleted. You can change your email and password and logout instead.

What do you mean by generally? Surely under GDPR they would be required by law to delete at request?
YES - I find this a giant oversight - users should be able to delete their own accounts and data, as well as download GDPR-compliant information about their account and their posts (if not deleted). I'm sure the creators of MyBB had a rationale to omit self-deletion, but that rationale may need revision, in my opinion. The right to be forgotten is central to GDPR, so it should be built-in. It's a pretty serious standard and deserves compliance in full...

GDPR provides the following rights for Individuals:

  1. The right to be informed
  2. The right of access
  3. The right to rectification
  4. The right to erasure
  5. The right to restrict processing
  6. The right to data portability
  7. The right to object
  8. Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.

MyBB gives you the option to export and erase personal data. I suggest you to educate yourself before educating others.  Rolleyes

MyBB should include the ability to delete your own account - which was the question I was responding to. I run a MyBB forum and often have to respond to requests for full account deletion - that function should be built in, along with a GDPR compliance statement for both users and admins. MyBB should be proactive about compliance with legal standards... the disucssion for which began 2 years ago, and like v1.9 is still not available:

Absolutely this, well said 👍
This plugin can make your forum GDPR compliant - https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?acti...w&pid=1282

1.9 is about so much more than GDPR compliance and you can follow updates in the 1.9 Development thread.

Interesting. Is this feature provided by a plugin? I can't find it in core code.
