try to create a file with name settings.php in the inc folder of your MyBB files server.
post here back what happens.

suggestion is not to upload a file named settings.php
rather it is to try creating a new file named settings.php through ftp or through file manager.

I did that. The problem still persist. I checked settings.php file and there I checked cookie settings which have been mentioned here https://community.mybb.com/thread-126359.html
The cookie settings are according to the above thread instructions. But still the problem persist.

^ as per above post, I assume that you have created a file named settings.php and then checked it.
MyBB system automatically filled contents in the settings.php file. is it correct ?

if so, edit settings.php file and change cookie domain to .iiustudents.com
also change board url to http://iiustudents.com [i.e. without www]

save settings.php file. clear your browser cookies by clicking link on this page.
then you should be able to login to forum & forum admin panel.

after logging into forum admin panel, visit Site Details page at Configuration Section.
And again change values for board url & cookie domain as suggested above & save settings.
