MyBB scales pretty well, the largest MyBB forum currently has around 600,000 users and I think the database size was around 50.0 GB. Do you know how large you expect your own forum to be?

The first one is 1.8, the second one I think is 1.6.

so you will not have a problem in short
I'm sure it can handle everything but then of course you'll need a good server and probably a VPS. I'm sure large forums like hackforums & leakforums are runned by VPS and a decent server, or else I believe without a good vps and a server the whole forum would run slow.
