I personally don't like the way how and why MyBB will abandon or remove an existing feature currently: post a poll, get a result from voting on which feature to stay or be removed.
IMO, almost all the existing features are deeply integrated into MyBB itself, and they're sort of not pluggable. Which means if a feature is removed, and it'll not be well re-implemented and re-enabled through plugins for now, without bloating MyBB.
I wish MyBB can have a well-designed and featureful plugin system, as I've stated here.
