It seems to be much harder than it's explained, someone who has converted? Do not understand how to upload mybb to the server and drive from there when there is another script?

What script are you referring to?

You need to give better details so that we can help you better.
From phpbb3

Everything you need is HERE.
Have read it but still understand none of it. I have a working forum. How can I upload mybb on my root and start there? Ah, just as good to let it be.

Well, you need to go HERE first, then follow the rest of the documentation.

We will try to help you, but we won't do all of the work for you.
I understand you want to help but the description is not enough. I have read many who still have trouble converting. Then you say changes in .htaccess file- Do you know what file it really is? It's a file you do not touch any time.

That .htaccess file is not always required.

I know this because when you first install a new MyBB website, there is no active .htaccess file, but you can access the website and AdminCP without the .htaccess file.

Technically, you can run a MyBB website without .htaccess file, but it's wise to have a simple .htaccess file.

In the instructions, it tells you to find the htaccess.txt file and rename this to .htaccess (dot must be at the beginning- remove .txt, then save the file) and upload this to your website files.

You are permitted to modify the .htaccess file as needed for your website.
It's wise not to make too many changes to the .htaccess because it might stop your website from showing up.
Thank you for your help but I do not think Merge is sufficiently developed yet. You can look here: https://community.mybb.com/thread-219425.html

Then here: https://flawlessfic.com/index.php

Go around the forum to see what errors there are. Thanks for the help, but I completely refrain from destroying my forum.

I know all about that website.

I did assist the owner (I think she was the owner) @stephx and I was in the middle of fixing some items, then suddenly she decided on her own to take over.
So, I was basically left out of that situation. I cannot do anything for that website. I did make suggestions on how to fix those errors, but as we can see, those errors are still there.

Back to your issue at hand...

The Merge feature is NOT the issue here, it's your LACK of understanding of how MyBB software works and why it works in a certain way.

I must ask you these questions...

Is your current forum software not meeting your needs?

Why were you THINKING of switching to MyBB in the first place?

Why do you feel the need to make a switch?
