Hello, I'm like SUPER new to all this MyBB stuff so I'm probably just dumb. Anyways, I downloaded MyBB files and uploaded the upload file to the website (I'm using Angelfire if that makes any difference) and I changed the permissions and the next step in the tutorial says to go to /install/index.php. When I went to that however, it showed the code of the page and thus I could not click "next" like the tutorial asked me to. Any ideas? Thanks.

EDIT: I tried using a different web hosting site this time, x10hosting.com and the same problem occurs. It displays this code:

This is a problem your going to have to take up with your host. It doesn't look like they've configured (or installed) PHP correctly

Hello, I am part of the x10Hosting support staff, may I ask why MyBB needs exec turned on?

Lets see

1) Load limiting - Allows MyBB's load rejection to work
2) Server Load reading - allows MyBB to present the server load to administrators

The only command we use in exec is "uptime"

Angelfire does not support PHP/MySQL as far as I know. You won't be able to run MyBB on it.

Okay so now I tried opening the index.php file with SmartFTP and when I did, Firefox opened and started opening new blank tabs. I tried to close Firefox but it just opened again and started opening new blank tabs. Eventually my computer said something about too much CPU being used and that it had to switch to the Windows Vista Basic interface. I restarted my computer, tried opening the file again, but the same thing happened.

Just an idea, see if you can run the exec, if you can enable that info, if you can't then don't run the code. A lot of free hosts don't allow exec.
