I've noticed that a lot of plugins only work good on a custom theme/template, why is that?

When I install on a different theme it works. On the default theme it doens't display tags on homepage.

it works when I use a different theme, default it just doesnt display at all.

well, then you did something wrong or you have to refresh the cache to properly work with the tags

had no warning, don't know which AV you are using, some are kind of strange with alerting on every subdomain which is not cool, when a shared hoster is reported and dang all user on this TLD get reported. So, keep it in mind
