Since i have a bit more time on my hands now i will be creating a blog modification for myBB. It will feature:

# Blogs can be created by any member of the board.
# Show/Hide blocks
# HTML (usergroup set), BBCode, and Smilies.
# Comments
# Create/Manage Blocks (rss news, image, countdown)

Any suggestions are welcome, this should be done within the next week or two so open to suggestions, demo board will be online soon for testing.

Question, will the usernames be colored according to their usergroup?

That sounds really great. It will save a lot of time of having to install an independent blog package. Hope you will consider adding the feature of auto-email to members whenever a new comment is added.
