now for an American English forum is it better for DB to be UTF-8 or latin1

which is exactly why I suggested a public SVN repository that has the files from latest release. If you have your own server or get your host to set it up, upgrading is as fast as a few clicks. No one replied to
my suggestion though

anyone at all I was just curious what was better
UTF-8 is the go-to for all localization solutions if done correctly
Have upgraded all my forums now and it all went smoothly.

huh I do not see a reply that states which one is better to use all you are saying is all localizations will need to be changed that is NOT!!!!!!!!!!! what I asked

Question: what will be better off to use on MyBB that is used by both foreign and english US users?
a) UTF-8
b) remain as is with latin1
that is simply as can be what you told me means nothing to me as of a comparision

as I know, yes it'll be better, and here is an example of how it's helped me.
I worked hard to make my custom style XHTML and CSS validate.
and evry topic I'm posting on my forum, I check it for validation
some time I was facing problems with validation becuase of the latin1 that used on my db
and some spicial chracters in my posts.
after converted my db to utf-8 there is no more probelms like this!.
