I'm terribly sorry, I didn't mean to cause any trouble by posting this thread. I didn't realize so many threads of this type had already been posted.

I apologize for any issues that may have arisen with this thread.Wink

I can almost guarantee no shared host will offer 500GB of webspace, despite what they advertise.
If you're talking about monthly bandwidth, I doubt many would give you 500GB either - typically, you'll exceed your load limits by that time (if you don't, the host will probably lie Toungue).

VPS is very reliable and you actually get what is advertised, however, it does cost more.

Servage...I have done 300-500GB of BW in a month without problem and they do offer 510GB of space. It's cheap too and fairly reliable.

Ye servage are good with my old account i had with them i used about 20GB with no prob so they are worth what you pay i say.
^ I think one off situations aren't too much a worry to them - since (most likely) most other sites they host will use very little bandwidth, and sites will get unusual traffic spikes etc.
However, if they're having issues with too much bandwidth being used, and you constantly use over 500GB, they may start knocking off people...

Either that, or they are, indeed, a good host Smile
(I'm just pointing out potential issues with some over-sellers Toungue)
I'm looking into the mentioned suggestion as I speak. I however have one more question, I came across hostgator while performing a web search using Google and I was wondering if anyone here is hosted through them?

How reliable are they and how fast are their servers, uptime etc....?
I'm hosted on hostgator, they're not bad for what you pay for (probably one of the most reputable shared hosts). They are currently working on upgrading all their servers to PHP 5.x and MySQL 5.x.

If you want an idea of speed, click on the big red banner in my sig.

Holy crap that's fast, much faster than when I was hosted with Godaddy. I decided I'll be signing up with them at the end of the month.Big Grin
WOW. That's host gator?!?
Hmm... I'm signing up LOL.
Hostgator is certainly a well respected host. Part of it depends on your content...I like my servage account because it's in Germany and they allow full-on porn sites. Someone like Hostgator is VERY picky about it's sites...warez or anything questionable you get kicked.

Right now I have a Servage account, A Dreamhost account, and my own colo server.

Dreamhost has been imho been doing very well with it's tools and interface. You also get SSH access which I love. They also have great single click installs and even updates for scripts like Wordpress.

If you hunt around you might be able to find a great dreamhost coupon. They also allow a fair amount of bandwidth and server space.
I am using IX Webhosting for my three sites. I'm using the Business Plus plan.

I've just moved one site I help manage there and I recommended them to another one that I manage. EVERYONE loves them.

Customer support is superb and I cannot say ENOUGH about them! They have gone above and beyond what they are allowed to do in regard to support and although sometimes there is a long wait on the phone for a tech, it's well worth it. They stay on the line with you until the problem is resolved.
Much more than I can say about some I've hosted with.

They're rocket fast too. If you want to check my sites out for speed, go ahead.... www.wandaspetworld.com and www.thetwitchinkitchen.com

Massive space and tons of freebies included.
